- At SHS we hand-pick our Au Pairs. Many of them are studying in France or Switzerland. They have chosen to spend some of their vacation in the UK as they have a genuine interest in looking after children, learning more about a new culture and developing their language skills.
- Most of our Au Pairs are bilingual speaking French and English, some also speak German or Spanish, so communication between families and their Au Pair isn’t a problem.
- Our rigorous selection process enables us to find the best Au Pair to meet your family’s needs.
What does our Au Pair selection process involve?
- Profiling – we assemble as much information as we can about potential candidates including their experience in childcare;
- Interviewing – we get to know our candidates better by speaking to them in French and in English;
- Photo Identity – we require all our Au Pairs to provide photo ID;
- Independent References – we follow up 2 independent references – one covering the Au Pair's childcare experience and the other, a personal character reference;
- Medical Report – every candidate must give us up to date medical evidence to show that they are fit and well to work as an Au Pair; and
- Criminal Records – every candidate must provide evidence from their home country to show that they have a clean record.
